SC: Sierra College...or Santa Claus?

Each year, we mark Elevate's anniversary by taking on a service project that benefits the community. This year we partnered with our friends at the Sierra College Foundation, the nonprofit that raises funds on the behalf of Sierra College students. The Foundation's Guardian Scholars Program provides support to the approximately 200 Sierra College students who have aged out of the foster care system. Now, solely on their own, these students are working to make their way through college, oftentimes with little or no financial or emotional support. It is quite a challenge to overcome a lack of resources considering the cost of tuition, supplies, and daily necessities of college life.

The Elevate team is excited to assemble 'Warm Winter Wishes' gift bags, full of goodies for students in the Guardian Scholars program. These bags include a variety of items donated by the Elevate community and several local businesses. We are still seeking contributions for this special holiday service project, including warm socks and ready-to-eat soups. We will distribute the goody bags to students when they return to campus after winter break in hopes that their spring semester gets off to a great start with a little love from Elevate and our generous community. For more information on how to help, please contact Cassie, (916) 672-6766.
