Just what is the Big Day of Giving? We call it BIGDoG around here. Either way, it's a coordinated regional effort to spotlight nonprofits in our area and encourage concentrated giving on a single day.
Supporters are asked to pick their favorite nonprofit(s) and make a donation on Tuesday, May 3.
Last year, the organizations that collaborate to bring BIG DoG to our area - Sacramento Region Community Foundation, Placer Community Foundation and Yolo Community Foundation - brought in over 36,000 gifts totaling an astonishing $5.6 million! All in a single day!
The BIG Day of Giving is an opportunity not only for donors to show their community pride and support the nonprofits that are working hard to make our region great, it is also a year-long capacity building program that helps nonprofit participants hone their skills in marketing, social media, and board and donor engagement. This year, approximately 100 Placer County nonprofits plan to participate.
BIG DoG kicks off on the 3rd at the Galleria at Roseville with a festive event 10am to 1pm. In the afternoon, head up to the Auburn Performing Arts Center for an event co-hosted by Ripple Effect, a young professionals group, 4 to 7pm, where a tally board will be front and center.
Please join us on May 3rd in supporting our local nonprofits, working tirelessly to improve the quality of life in Placer County.
